So what's the point of this site?
About six years ago my daughter came home from school with a quiz (for which there was a prize for the best entry) consisting of the openings of books from which one had to identify the book and the author. Eventually by a mixture of lurking in bookshops and various internet search engines we found out all but one of the answers and won the prize. My daughter's teacher seemed to feel that the use of the internet was cheating, whereas we thought of it as resourceful. What was a surprise was that there wasn't a single source for all the answers. Having gathered the information together, I created a website which at its peak was receiving about 50 hits a day. For a number of reasons, that web site folded. Now six years later, I've find myself with the time and energy to re-establish it. Enjoy...
